Islamic Association of Bunbury
The Association
started in Unit as an informal group of Muslims community in the 1998s, with a
view to continuing the practice of their religion, creating an avenue for
coming together, and to further their religious awareness in a non-Muslim environment
Now the association has become a true multicultural
body representing Muslims from Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Bangladesh,
Pakistan, India, Iran, Iraq, South Africa, Afghanistan, Guinea Republic, Ghana
and other countries
Vision
The vision of Islamic Association of Bunbury establish is to develop and create a sanctuary to facilitate community activities, provide a worship place for Muslim families, promote the awareness of Islam in the town of Bunbury.
Mission Statement
In order to fulfill our vision, we aim to uphold the principles and virtues of Islam which includes:
- Facilitate inter-faith discussions to create mutual understanding and cooperation
- Assist and provide help for humanitarian causes locally and internationally as needed
- Catering for the needs and welfare of individuals in the community and community at large.
- To promote the awareness of Islam & Muslims and to facilitate a harmonious society in which we all can live and cooperate with each other.
- In addition we aim to foster and improve relationships with other organization such as societies, centers and all social organization regardless of race, religious believes ethnicity or nationality.
- To teach Islamic beliefs and values In the context of deepening spirituality and community involvement
- To make the mosque vital centers for worship and community needs
- To empower the community to lead an Islamic way of life.
- Co carry out religious and charitable acts including helping the needy family in the community
The association promotes peace, harmony and Islamic brotherhood in the broader spectrum of Australian communities, encompassing all faiths and ethnicity for the greater interests of the Muslim Ummah. The association also engages closely with all levels of the Australian and Governments, and maintains an excellent relationship with Tabligh missions of the Muslim countries in Bunbury.
